The Route to the Airports
Heathrow is usually reached via the A320 to junction 11 of the M25, then anticlockwise to the spur — a run that is comfortably under the hour outside peak times. Gatwick takes the M25 the other way toward junction 7 and the M23. For central London we more often use the A3 than the motorway, depending on the hour.
Timing and Traffic
The A320 between Woking and Chertsey is the pinch point that catches most journeys, particularly northbound between seven and nine in the morning. We plan around it rather than against it, and we would rather build in a quiet fifteen minutes than explain a missed check-in.
