The Route from Surrey
Oxford sits north-west of our usual coverage, which makes it a genuinely different journey from the London airports. We run out via the M4 and north on the A34, or use the M40 where the destination or the hour favours it. Either way it is a road network we use for little else.
Timing and Traffic
Around fifty-five minutes in clear conditions. The A34 is generally quick but has known slow sections around Newbury and the Oxford ring road, and the approach to Kidlington can be busy at peak times. We plan on the realistic figure rather than the optimistic one.

- The Mercedes-Benz V-Class, particularly given the distance — individual seats, room for luggage and a cabin comfortable enough that the journey passes easily. For one or two passengers the E-Class or S-Class works well.
- Is Oxford Airport the same as Kidlington?
- Yes. Oxford Airport is at Kidlington, just north of the city, and the two names are used interchangeably locally. It is a general and business aviation field rather than a commercial airport, so there is no passenger terminal in the usual sense.
