It's the first question most people have, and the honest answer is that a chauffeur isn't priced from a single rate card the way a taxi meter or a rideshare app is. Every journey is quoted as a fixed, all-in price agreed before you travel — so rather than a number that appears at the end, it's one you confirm at the start. What follows is what actually goes into that figure, so the quote you receive makes sense rather than arriving out of nowhere.
Distance and duration
The single biggest factor is simply how far you're going and how long the car and chauffeur are committed for. A short local run across Woking or Weybridge and a long-distance trip to the North are different propositions, and the quote reflects the time the vehicle is dedicated to you as much as the miles covered. For a day built around several stops, as-directed hire is usually priced by the hour or the day rather than by route, which often works out more sensibly than a string of separate point-to-point fares.
The vehicle you choose
The car matters too. Our saloons — the E-Class and S-Class — and the V-Class people carrier suit different journeys, and the choice is usually led by passengers and luggage rather than price alone. If you're unsure, the V-Class is the car we most often recommend: it carries one traveller wanting room to work or a group of six with luggage equally well, which tends to make it the flexible default rather than the expensive one.
Timing and waiting
When you travel plays a part — very early, very late and peak-hour journeys are planned around the roads as they'll actually be — but there's no surge pricing that lifts a fare because demand is high that day. Airport collections include complimentary waiting time for landing, immigration and baggage reclaim as standard, and if a flight is delayed we re-time the pickup rather than running a clock against you. Any exceptional waiting is agreed with you first, never added quietly.
What you won't find in the price
There's no meter, no surge, and no fare that drifts upward because the traffic was worse than expected — the fixed quote is the fixed quote. For business account clients, journeys can be invoiced or billed to a card on file and reconciled against a single statement, which removes the receipt-chasing that makes travel costs hard to see clearly.
The most reliable way to know what your specific journey costs is to ask for a quote: tell us the route, the timing and the passenger and luggage count, and we'll come back with a fixed, all-in price and the right car.
